SSo the low boost limp mode returned on the e90, again. Thought I would try to adjust the waste gate vacuum actuator before giving up and taking it to a shop to tell me the wastegates are toast.

Kinja'd!!!

I would say I have average size hands for a 5'11" American male, but sonofabiscuit, there is not a lot of real estate there for my hand much less for any sort of wrench.

The real profanities were expressed earlier in the garage.

I guess I was spoiled by my 57 Ford truck where I can stand in between the motor and frame rails.

Some German guy named Hans who is 6’4” 240lbs put it together. You’ll figure it out :)

My first project car for three years was a daily driven Z32 300zx. I fear no car now. Worst car to learn on. I was thrown to the mechanical equivalent of wolves.

Had to get a whole new turbo in the GTI when the wastegate grenaded. Apparently a common failure on those.

Interestingly it was actually driven for a couple weeks with no boost and the CEL. Actually ran fine, just with no boost.

Thought buying an 03 Ford with a 7.3 would make for easy wrenching but oh no it doesn't

Nothing is easy to wrench on these days when you compare it to the wide open bays of the previous millenn ium (though I’m not sure exactly the year when this ended for each manufacturer; I have a ‘92 GM with plenty of room)

Something about being able to stand in the engine bay of my car gives me the warm fuzzies. It’s just right damnit

My 90 F150 is what I learned to wrench on. Plenty of look down and see the ground spaces - granted the 5.0 at the time was fairly small.

to be fair, my ol’ ford is a straight 6, so there’s more room where the V8 isn’t there.
